BoatLife Fishing Championship
Event Postponement Announcement

MindWorks Marketing, on behalf of BoatLife Fishing Championship, would like to provide an important update to the events’ valued participants, sponsors, stakeholders, and the wider community regarding the upcoming BoatLife Fishing Championship.

Firstly, we are deeply saddened to inform you that Richard Dove, the visionary founder and owner of BoatLife Fishing Championship, recently experienced a serious medical emergency. After undergoing emergency surgery, Richard has been placed in an induced coma, and while the procedure was successful, his recovery time is yet undefined. Our thoughts and best wishes are with Richard and his family during this challenging period.

Due to Richard’s sudden medical condition and the lack of a designated representative who can oversee financial and logistical decisions, we are faced with the difficult decision to postpone the remaining events for 2024. This includes the scheduled competitions in Plymouth (October) and Guernsey (November).

The Championship, which was set to continue with events in Plymouth and Guernsey later this year, will now be restructured as we look ahead to future possibilities. We all remain fully committed to ensuring that the event continues, and further details regarding the timing and format of the next BoatLife Fishing Championship will be shared in the coming weeks.

What This Means for You

Competitors
All current registrations, including those of the ‘Pro Teams’ and Privateer teams, will be rolled over to the next event. Competitors will be updated with details as soon as possible regarding revised dates and locations.

Community Involvement
The event remains dedicated to promoting sea fishing, supporting local communities, and educating on sustainability in the sport. The next iteration of the BoatLife Fishing Championship will continue to uphold these values as we continue work to together to develop an exciting, impactful event.

Looking Ahead

While these changes are necessary due to the unforeseen circumstances, we are excited about the opportunity to regroup and help BoatLife Fishing Championship build an even more successful event going forward. We would like to reassure everyone that the BoatLife Fishing Championship is set to continue, and we look forward to making it a standout event for competitors, sponsors, and the wider community.

Further information about the future of the Championship will be provided in the coming weeks. For any immediate inquiries, please contact us at [email protected].
