The first stage of the new UK-wide BoatLife Fishing Championship will be taking place at Boatfolk Conwy Marina on 17-19 May. Conwy has been selected as the inaugural location for the national catch & release competition due to its rich sea fishing history and stunning coastal scenery which offers the perfect backdrop to kick off this prestigious event.

Known for its diverse range of fish species, the tidal patterns of the Conwy Estuary will give seasoned professionals entering the pro competition and weekend anglers in the Privateers competition the chance to show off their skills as well as compete for trophies and great prizes. The winner of the Privateers competition will receive a £2,000 cash prize as well as products supplied by branded teams and sponsors.

“This championship is not just a competition; it’s a celebration of our shared love for angling and the long-standing fishing heritage of these waters.” Richard Dove, BoatLife CEO, said. “It promises to be an unforgettable experience with something for everyone, from coveted trophies to exciting activities onshore and the chance to connect with fishing enthusiasts from near and far.

“Conwy is a favourite location for tourists with lots to see and do in the area. The BoatLife Fishing Championship is really excited and proud to hold its opening stage here and looks forward to involving the community and local anglers in what will be a great weekend.”

Don’t miss your chance to be part of angling history – mark your calendars and prepare for a day of fishing adventure like no other!
